Our Approach

We nurture and grow a thriving ecosystem of groups, collectives, and organizations that have clarity in their role and purpose, foster trusting relationships and effective internal infrastructure, and contribute powerfully to the larger movement for justice.

Guiding Principles

  • Creativity and experimentation: Many of our society’s current ways of working together are rooted in oppressive patterns. We bring both deep expertise and open-minded creativity, supporting groups to reach for new tools to address their challenges.

  • Democratic practice: Groups make better decisions when those who are most impacted are part of the decision-making. This often means shifting power in concrete ways. We strive to hold spaces that are highly participatory, rooted in shared purpose, and deeply collaborative and transparent.

  • Clarity: Having clear purpose and values enables groups to fulfill their unique role in our larger ecosystem. We aim to cultivate shared understanding within organizations to better equip them to do their best work.

  • People power: Transformative power comes from the bottom up, not the top down. This means that organizations must cultivate leadership across all levels, develop movement leaders who can represent our best interests, and invite more members into meaningful decision-making.

Who We Are

We are cooperative members who believe in democratic practice.

As a worker-owned cooperative, we know first-hand the power and pitfalls of collective decision-making and governance. We can support your group to make clearer, more transparent, and more equitable decisions together.

We are cross-pollinators that bring expertise from across our movement ecosystem.

Our team includes organizers, nonprofit workers, strategists, artists, operations nerds, and cultural workers within various and interlocking movements. We bring the wisdom and lessons from each of these spaces to shape our work with your organization.

We are friends, comrades, and co-workers who believe that relationships are the source of our power.

We know that tending to relationships is key to sustainable and impactful collaboration. In our practice, we create spaces that intentionally support the processing of emotions and building of meaningful relationships to ensure that groups can effectively show up for each other and their work.
